MAHANGU / OSHIFIMA PORRIGE (Stiff Namibian porridge)

Ingredients 

2 litres of water 

375 ml of Mahangu 

375 mℓ of White maize flour  

Salt to taste 

2 tablespoons of Omaghandhi fat 

10 mℓ of Moringa powder (optional, for more nutritional value) 

 

METHOD:

  1. Bring the water to the boil, add the Salt. 

  1. Mix the Mahangu flour in 200ml cold water first and then add to the boiling water. 

  1. Cook for 5 minutes and then add the maize flour to the mixture. 

  1. Cook for another 5 minutes until thick and creamy. 

  1. Serve with tripe and spinach.
